Summer Calendar Information

Del Norte Ward, Children’s Summer Calendar 2008

SUMMER CALENDAR BLOG-This is a new addition to our summer calendar this year. This will be a fun way to add activities, make changes, and find out meeting times and places if not determined already.

POOL RULES- No dropping kids off, you must stay with them. Bring your own treats/lunches. Don’t bring neighbor children unless ok’d by pool owner. You must be in the pool with your child if your child is 5 or younger or if your child cannot swim. Children who cannot swim must wear life jacket, floaties, etc. Please watch your children at all times. Pool owners are not responsible to watch them. Don’t stay beyond the scheduled time. Finally, have fun!

*Collage Pool (Mindi Bullick).-11980 Tivoli Park Row- South Pool
*Cambridge Pool We will be meeting at the south pool this year (not the main pool). Gate Code is 3344. Use small aluminum code box, not box on stone pillar.
*Overlook Pool-15909 Avenida Venusto
*Bernardo Heights Community Center Pool (Shauna Layne)-Entrance on Avenida Venusto off of Bernardo Heights Pkwy. Call Shauna for more information.
*Boys and Girls club pool (4S Ranch). Elizabeth Parmley is the contact. The cost is $5 per person.
*The Wave-101 Wave Drive Vista, CA 92083. Please search Mapquest.com for directions

BEACH DAYS- On Thursdays and some Fridays we will be meeting at Torrey Pines beach. Please check your Thomas Guide or mapquest.com to get directions. Just like with the pool days, you are responsible for watching your own children at the beach!

FREE MOVIE DAYS – Every Tuesday and Wednesday during the summer Edwards Cinemas in Mira Mesa is offering free movies starting at 10:00am.

PARK DAYS – These are in conjunction with free movie days on Tuesdays, so you can either go to a movie or to the park or the park after the movie . Bring a chair, snacks, and sunscreen. Here are the park locations: Highland Ranch Park: (Eastbourne rd.) Hilleary Park: (13500 Community Road, across from Wal-Mart), South Creek Park, in Sabre Springs (Poway Road to south on Springbrook to Wickerbay Cv.), Old Poway Park (Midland Rd.), Carriage Road Park (aka Star Ridge, turn South on Silverset off Twin Peaks, turn left on Palisades which turns into Carriage road, go down a mile or so, park is on left-hand side.)Rancho Bernardo Community Park(18448 West Bernardo Drive)

STORY TIME- Almost Every Wednesday we will be meeting at the Pomerado Church Building at 10:30. We will split into two groups, a younger story time, and an older book club. The older book club will be in conjunction with the Poway summer reading program. You can register at our story time, or at the library to get prizes.

BIKE RIDE AT LAKE MIRAMAR- Take the Mira Mesa Blvd. exit(16)head east, turn right onto Scripps Ranch Blvd, turn left onto Scripps Lake Dr., Turn left onto Miramar Resv., turn left to stay on Miramar Resv. Turn into right-hand parking lot, meet by the big bathroom structure.
SEAWORLD/LEGOLAND-If you don’t have tickets, we will let you know about discount rates. Check the blog for more information, or call Shauna.

Love the updated events thing on the right hand side - that is AWESOME! I'm interested to see this book thing tomorrow - are we supposed to bring our own books? This probably won't be seen before then, so I think I will... thanks for setting this up guys!
